Curried carrots and lentils

1/2 C dried red lentils
1 1/2 C water
3 carrots cut into 2 inch pieces 
1/2 C chopped onion
1/4 C golden raisins
2 Tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
black pepper
optionally: turnips and red potatoes.

Brown onion & potatoes.
Microwave lentils and 1/2C water covered for 5 minutes.
Stir in carrots and 1/2 C water.  Cook 5 min.
Stir in remaining 1/2 C water and ingrgdients.  Cook 5 min.
